Letter Similes in English Word Formation and Their Translation into Persian
Abstract
Objects, tools and phenomena in English and European languages sometimes are likened to letters based on their exact or relative similarities, coining new compounds. The article tries to study letter similes in English and investigate the ways they are translated into Persian. It terminates with a list of letter similes and their Persian dynamic, functional equivalents to shed light on the subject.Published
