حرکت از برنامه‌های ترجمه به سمت پروژه‌های آموزشی: مطالعۀ موردی انتشارات فرانکلین در ایران

چکیده

مقالۀ حاضر یک مطالعه خرد‌تاریخی آرشیوی از فعالیت‌های انتشارات فرانکلین از سال تاسیس آن ۱۳۳۳، تا پایان فعالیت آن، در سال ۱۳۵۵ است. با بررسی آرشیوها، هدف این مطالعه نشان‌دادن تصویری دقیق از فعالیت‌های انتشارات فرانکلین در ایران بود. برای این منظور، ابتدا، چهار مجموعه از اطلاعات بایگانی مربوط به انتشارات فرانکلین به‌طور کامل موردبررسی قرار گرفت. در پژوهش حاضر، آرشیو سازمان اسناد ملی ایران، مدیریت مرکز اسناد و مطبوعات آستان قدس رضوی، آرشیو دانشگاه پرینستون، مؤسسه علمی فرهنگی و کتابخانه کنگره آمریکا برای یافتن منابع اولیه تاحدامکان درمورد انتشارات فرانکلین موردبررسی قرار گرفتند. گزارش‌های سالانه فرانکلین، مکاتبات انتشارات فرانکلین با سازمان‌های وابسته، یادداشت‌های دست‌نویس مترجمان، و یادداشت‌های دست‌نویس ویراستاران به‌عنوان منابع اولیه مورداستفاده قرار گرفتند. کتاب‌ها و اسناد مربوط به انتشارات فرانکلین و مترجمان و ویراستاران آن نیز به‌دقت موردبررسی قرار گرفت. سپس اطلاعات اصلی مربوط به این مطالعه استخراج شد. فعالیت‌های انتشارات فرانکلین منجر به معرفی و تبلیغ ادبیات آمریکایی و ارتقای صنعت نشر بومی از طریق اتخاذ روش‌های معاصر در زمینه‌هایی مانند انتشار، چاپ، طراحی، توزیع و تبلیغات کتاب شد. علاوه بر این، فعالیت‌های انتشارات فرانکین در حوزۀ چاپ دایرة‌المعارف فارسی، زبان فارسی را غنی‌تر کرد و آن را با نیازهای معاصر و پیشرفت‌های فناوری سازگارتر کرد.
